A Foal is Born! New Life at Our Occitanie Donkey Farm

He was born yesterday, February 23rd 2026, on our farm in the garrigue landscapes of Occitanie. This little foal, fragile and already curious, took his first steps on the dry southern French soil that our hiking companions walk every summer.

Just 24 hours old — and already standing tall.

This is the magic of life here, in the Buèges valley. The authentic reality of a farm in the Hérault, where every foal born becomes one more member of the family you might meet on the trails this summer.

Why this birth matters to you

Our donkeys aren't decorative animals. They grow up here, learning every garrigue path and limestone plateau from their very first steps. When you hike with them through southern France, you walk alongside companions born on this land — that's what makes every stage of the journey genuinely unique.

This foal will join the herd in a few weeks. Until then, he'll roam freely across our Occitanie farm, just as his ancestors carried shepherds through the Cévennes in transhumance.
