Trip Description
Day 1: Start hiking between vineyards, olive trees, and holm oaks. On the way, discovery of the mysterious sources of the Buèges. Ascent of the Pontel valley in the shade of Salzmann pines. Night in a gite. Dist: 10 km. + 450 m. 4 h. Day 2: Ascent of Pic Saint Baudille, magnificent panorama over the Languedoc. Access to Larzac, then to the typically Caussenard village of La Vacquerie. Night in a guest house. Dist: 14 Km. + 300 m. 5 h. Day 3: The great steppes of the Larzac plateau, between hills and sinkholes. Then descent into the hydrogeological wonder that is the Cirque de Navacelles. Swimming possible at arrival. Night in a guest house at the bottom of the cirque. Dist: 17 km. + 150 m. 6 h. Day 4: The trail climbs up the north side of the cirque onto the Blandas causse in a grandiose site. Night in a guest house. (Pool with free access, jacuzzi extra) Dist: 14 km. + 400 m. 5 h. Day 5: The state forests of the Vis at the foot of Pic d’Anjeau, then descent to St Laurent le Minier and return shuttle to A la Ser’ane. Dist: 12 km. +200 m. 4 h.
